SHUT DOWN! RESTART!

Yeah...that's what I need to do after this past four days of nonstop playing World of Warcraft with my brother, friends and coworkers.

Actually the only reason I am writing this entry right now is because there is a Daily Scheduled Maintenance shut down starting today from 4 to 5 AM. And at this moment, I'm just sitting here waiting for it to come back up...and also trying to reorganize my life again. I feel soooooo unproductive these past few days! Time to at least try to come back to reality now... What the heck have I been doing the past few days?!! AHHHHH! Oh well, at least I enjoyed it for a bit...while it lasts.

Anyhow, I took some time off tonight to visit my new "best friends" Jessie and Sydney. Jessie is still a little cutie as always. She invited me to have tea and watch her cook on her little kitchen set...hehe . And Sydney is so much more animated now...she opens her eyes more often and waves her little hands around frequently too. I think she's about 1 month old now. Anyways, thanks Pete and Jane for having me over again for like the 5th time now or something.

All aboard the train to Crossroads!!!

WoW

It's time for a new adventure...don't you agree? World of Warcraft!

2 AM - My brother preordered a few copies from a local store and picked it up right after midnight. Darren was still out at the Fountain Valley Fry's to get a signed copy of the game. He told me there were about 2 lines wrapped around the Fry's full of asian guys! Too bad there wasn't anyone dressed up in costumes really...

CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE....

3 AM - My brother and I went fishing to earn enough silvers for the creation of our guild.

My brother and I posing as we are the first of the few who ventured to Thunderbluff as taurens!

4:30 AM - We managed to get 10 signatures for the charter to start. GoG Federation was born! We were the first founding members! :)

GoG Federation!

We are the first Horde guild started on this brand new server, Frostwolf. So if you are playing, join in and message me.

By the way, I want to also say thanks to Darren for standing in line at the Fry's Electronic last night for at least 5 hours long to get me a cool signed copy of WoW! Thanks dude!

You can also visit his Xanga to see more about what he experienced last night waiting in line for this game! :) CLICK HERE!!!

Darren, Jeremy, and Brian...see you guys on the Barrens!

Nonetheless, WoW is great and all...but you know what really made my night? It was reading little Jessie's blog (who was written by her dad, Pete). She's such a cutie. CLICK HERE TO READ ABOUT IT

@#(*&$@!)($*%^

I've just realized that I have only exactly one more session to go to in dance class. It's the final session, we will be tested on all of the moves we have learned. It's going to be a bitter sweet ending to the dance class and UCI, I think. I'm going to miss all of the girls that I have met and danced with in that class. I felt as if somehow they were all a part of my life for a brief second, and they will all be distant memory soon enough. It's going to suck! I'm going through some major withdrawals right now...It's undoubtedly the best class ever!

I'm still debating if I should stay at UCI or transfer to USC. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I'm going to miss UCI if I do leave. I'm going to miss all of the cool people I have met this past quarter. Nonetheless, I won't miss the Computer Science graduate department even for one mere second!

If I am to stay at UCI, I will try to take as many other classes in other majors on top of my super boring ICS courses just to stay sane. If I transfer to USC, I'm not too sure how their CS department will be, but I know for sure it will put me in great debt and I can't afford to take other courses on top of the necessary CS courses. USC does have dance classes, so maybe that will be cool too.

Who knows anymore...I know I'm whining, please don't slap me yet!

Oh yeah, I got my car washed 2 days ago only to let the rain destroy the beautiful wax job tonight. Driving home tonight, I looked up in the sky and said "Thank you!!!".

Miraculously and as expected(!), this rollercoaster ride gets lower and lower every day. I'm just waiting for an armageddon to happen now...that's all that's left to this f***ing abstruse charade we call life...

Para vivir, debo amar.

All good things got to come to an end

Girls? Another week has went by...nothing really is going on...same old craps as always. This is the second time this year that I've deleted another girl's number off of my phone, it's kinda sad...I tried my best but sometime it's not good enough. I just can't help it but think about what could've been, but then that's just counter-productive thinking anyhow. Women are so complicated! They are all so different but in a way, when it comes down to it, they are all THE SAME! They want the same craps, literally...the same SH*TS.

CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE...

Game? World of Warcraft is coming out in a few days, the only thing I'm somewhat looking forward to at this point of my life. Besides that, nothing else much.

School? I hate school, it's pointless, especially at UCI. The department's curriculum is not for me. I'm only going to school for the girls! :) And that ain't going to happen in the Comp Sci grad program...Alright...I'm chaging my major to Psychology next week.

Work? I'm beginning to hate coming to work, thanks to the new upper management knuckleheads, our department is falling apart slowly every single day. And there is a great possibility that I might not be working there anymore after this year ends. I have been working there for more than 4 years and it's been a great run and we have a great team. I have met a lot of cool people and still will keep in touch with every single one of them if it comes down to it.

Dance? Review Day - Dance class was great today, I actually enjoyed dancing 5 times as much as any girls in the class because of the girl to guy ratio...about 25+ girls to 6 guys. It was so tiring though, I thought I was going to pass out after about 1.5 hour of dancing nonstop. But I am doing quite well, so it's all good. The whole class session went on for about 2.5 hours, and that's 2.5 hours of straight dancing. All of us guys were sweating like mad leaving the class. Good work out nonetheless. Only 2 more sessions and it's over. That last day is going to be one of the saddest days of my life thus far.

RANTING TIME: Damn, I've got to say something about this...I HATE dancing with girls that think they can lead...it bugs the hell out of me. I'm the man, I frigging lead, not you! :) Because when girls start leading, I get out of sync and start messing up. Damn it(!), just sit back and enjoy the ride and let me take care of everything. ;) I find that I dance so well when the girls let me take control of things. I'm no control-freak either! Just stating the fact why there are a lead and a follower when it comes to dancing.

Go to my previous post if you are bored and post some more comments! It's up to 73 comments now! Hehe, Darren started it again...good job man....

Hahahahahaha

I was blind and now I see the light...thanks Darren for the reminder! Appreciate it.

Tonight's post is short but it has a lot of meanings behind it.

Oh by the way, here is a picture of little cute Jessie holding her belated present that I got for her 2 weeks after her birthday. Thanks Pete for forcing her to hold my little gift for the picture! How's she liking the net bag that comes with the Penguin anyhow? Brian and I thought we would see the bag in the background of this picture...but we searched and searched and couldn't find it!

Moreover, this morning was pretty crappy but overall, I got a cool email from Jeremy. This was the picture I got in the email! Nice photoshop'ing skill yo!

Thanks a lot dude! Even though I got a shitty email from USC right before yours...it still made me laugh! Hahaha...one day...one day...I WILL have a slick ride like this.

Again, thank you everyone who has in one way or another wish me a Happy Birthday on the 15th...Thanks! I appreciate it!

Birthdays!

It's finally November 15th. It has been a long and crazy 23 years!

I feel older already! Time for me to start growing up too!

Here is a good quote by Sun Tzu (who wrote the Art of War) that I shall start applying in my life more often in this upcoming birthyear.

Opportunities multiply as they are seized

And on this new year, I give permission to anyone to slap me whenever I'm being a baby and cry over little things again! (just don't use your full force slapping me...or else I won't be able to see the light of day again)

Stress and doubts are so counter-productive...I should keep this in mind.

Anyhow, I would like to say Happy Birthday to Kyle (Nov 13th), Cedric (Nov 14th), and Kristine (Nov 15th). May all your wishes will come true!

This new birthyear will kick ass! I just know it. Even if it's not! I will make it so! That's a promise!

It's late and I'm tired...

Wow it's 5 AM and I'm still up! I'm crazy!

Anyhow, I'm still up because I have to post a new journal entry today because Jeremy and Derek told me so, and also Laureen actually posted something new on her blog and I told her that I will do the same only after she's posted something new. And she posted two tonight, so I have some catching up to do. So here goes it...

CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE...

Well, earlier tonight, I stopped by Pete's place to visit his family with Brian and Laureen. Pete's wife, Jane made us some really yummy spaghettiSSSS...thanks Jane! It was the second time I got to see baby Sydney...she's still so tiny (a week old). Moreover, I was proudly granted the title of Sydney's first-multiple-visitor by Pete! That was cool! I also got a chance to give little cutie Jessie her belated birthday present...she seems to like it for like the first few minutes! It's nothing big...just a really soft pink penguin pillow...I thought that maybe she can play with it or use it when she's a bit older...I hope! :)

I got home around 10:30 PM and went straight to my computer. I was going to finish some web layout design for work tonight... :( Well that didn't really exactly happen...I ended up playing World of Warcraft with Darren and Brian for the next 4 hours! We did a bunch of quests together, slaughtered many boars, cougars, and prairie wolves and got up to level 6.

It was great, we were later joined by my brother and his friends in the game. Hahahah....half of the time that we were online, using our cool looking Tauren characters, we were bumping and grinding the female Tauren guards from town to town! That was the greatest! (you might not know what the hell I'm talking about but that's ok, you are probably normal for not understanding what happened...hehe).

Damn Brian...leave the female tauren alone!!

Well...no more playing game for a while...at least for this coming weekend...I have a presentation to prepare for, next Monday...man! I have to give this presentation on my own birthday! No fun!

Anyhow, thanks everyone who has helped made my previous post so lively! :) Even though half of them were nonsensical teasings!! It's freaking great!!

This coming weekend, I will post some more interesting pictures for everyone to see...especially, since I recently got a hold of the pictures of a few of my coworkers...thanks Kevaungh!...I will be putting those up soon on my gallery. For the time being...enjoy these screenshots I took recently in WoW...it's 6 AM now and I must be heading to bed...I have a long day coming up...

Ninjas?!
Taurens Raving!!!
A cool Tauren on a Kodo mount...see the little raptor carrying a troll in the back? :)

Cooking and the Weather

Stupid weather! I can't believe I'm getting sick, and this time around, it wasn't from a girl. So that what makes it so depressing! Booooo! My nose is a bit stuffy...hopefully it will all go away, I really don't want to start this coming week in a bad way...I really don't. Aww crap...now it's bleeding! AHHHH!

A little more than a week until my birthday, hopefully my parents will remember it! Last year, it took my parents a month after to realize that they've missed my birthday! My mom told me that she remembered but she was too busy or something! Hehe...I really don't mind though, I don't think my birthday is that important anyhow...it only tells me that I'm getting older everyday...and hopefully wiser!

I was watching Reading Rainbow last night on PBS over at Matt's house. The host, LeVar Burton, was doing a cooking segment and he was explaining how cooking is just like chemistry! You have to mix things up and try new things out through trials and errors. Everything has to be measured and compiled. Eggs are good for holding different ingredients together, etc.

Well it hits me that, my dad loves to cook, and he loves to try out new recipes. And guess what...he used to be a chemist! I finally figured out why he likes cooking. I think he's an extraordinary cook, but sometime I think he puts too much wine in our food and that I can seriously taste the wine as if I were drinking it. So much for my oath to never drink!

CLICK BELOW TO READ MORE...

Anyhow, LeVar Burton and another dude, on Reading Rainbow, were cooking up some lasagna and instead of using pasta for the bottom layer, they were using rice! I thought that was pretty cool. I figured that the rice, after being in the oven for a good period of time will eventually melt together just like pasta anyways. It was pretty interesting! I will try it out one of these days for sure!

If I ever have the money and the time to do it, one of my life goals is to attend culinary school!

Moreover, on the way back from Matt's place, Omar and I were dropping off a DVD at the local BlockBuster...and I almost...so close...to dropping off the DVD at the front door into this massive trash bin that has a lid that looks like a dropbox...yeah after I've realized that I almost drop the DVD into the trash can, I got this weird looks from the employees inside of the BlockBuster. We had a good laugh over this on the way back. Man...I can be such a knucklehead sometimes...ok...all the time.

Here are some cool screenshots from the Beta version of the upcoming World of Warcraft game. Check it out if you are bored...or even if you are not bored...they have some interesting screenies...CLICK HERE.

Oh and by the way, to my 2 visitors out there, I promised a while back to post up the link to my coworker/buddy/clanmate, Jeremy's blog. His blog is finally done, and up and running now, so go check it out! CLICK HERE.

WoW!!!

I cannot believe it with my own eyes!!! It's been a long 4 years of anticipation! It finally has a released date! It's due for the 23rd of this month, November. One week and one day after my birthday!

World of Warcraft has finally going start soon!

I still remember the time that I first saw the first few screenshots of the game being developed, it was about 4 years ago, I thought and still think that it looks pretty cool.

Anyhow, expect not to ever see me again in person after the 23rd! Just kidding!

Nonetheless, for those of you that are interested in playing...

OPEN BETA is starting next monday, Nov. 8th...so let me know if you need a copy of the WoW client on DVD. Give me a call.

Also, for those of you who has played in the Beta, it was just announced yesterday that the Taurens will get to ride the Kodos now!!! WooHOOO! No more boring plainsrunning.

Sydney

Yeah...nothing really happened today. I stopped by Pete's place around 8 PM and got to play with Jessie a bit before she has to go to bed. She's little cutie, she loves to see things destroyed and tumbled!

I also had a chance to visit Sydney--she's two days old! She's the youngest baby that I've ever visited. Pete also let me hold her for a while and then she started crying because my arms got tired and they started giving out on me. Sydney is so tiny! I was telling Pete how I thought the whole baby idea is just so surreal, how they come out of their mothers' wombs and all those kind of neat baby stuff...hehe  ...they're all amazing stuff that are beyond my grasp of understanding....surreal I tell you.

Click here to see some pictures of Sydney's early visitors....Thanks Pete, for posting the picture.

Splash! November!

A couple of news for you!

First of all, I would like to say congratulation to Pete and Jane. Sydney was born on 11/1/2004 around 4:30PM. I got a call from him around 6 PM about it. I am very excited and happy for him! I think it's so cool to have babies. Jessie will now have a little sister to play with, that if they don't fight over little things like all kids do. So Pete, enjoy your time off! Hehe, see you in 2 weeks back at work. CLICK HERE to visit Pete's site for the pictures he took of Sydney's post-delivery.

Oh yeah, next topic...the ELECTION! Ummm...I voted today! Provisionally though because I registered about 2 months ago in UCI, and I think my paperwork hasn't been processed yet so my name wasn't listed on the voters list in my city. Anyhow, I hope my vote counts for something, they gave me this little stub with a Reference number to check 28 days after the election...they really think that I would care about it a month from now??? I have better things to stress and worry about!

Click below to read MORE...

Well, since I live in a Democratic state, I knew my vote wouldn't count for much as long as I don't vote for Bush...well I didn't! Just don't ask me who I voted for...:)

It's 3 AM right now, and some dude just went up on TV to declare that Bush has won Ohio despite of the uncounted marginal provisional votes in Ohio. Bush winning Ohio is a bad sign, that state has 20 electoral votes and that could mean trouble for Kerry at this point. Bush is currently at the 269 projected mark. Needs 270 total to win. Man this is going nowhere! What's up with Kerry people?

Well I guess we will all find out later today(!) or not! Who knows anymore, this country is spinning out of control!! AHHHHH...oh...crap...maybe it's just my mind!

--------

On to other news...GAMES...WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!!

From credible sources and my brother, Le Ha, who is currently in the Stress Test right now...yes, closed beta is over. That there is a very good chance that the game will be released in end of this month! Possibly a good market move by Vivendi to release it soon because crappy, unfinished Sony's Everquest 2 is going to be on the shelves in 5 days. Everquest 2 will definitely take away a good amount of gamers from WoW.

Therefore, Vivendi, you guys should take a drive down to Irvine and tell Blizzard to hurry the hell up and release it on my birthday or at least close to it...and it will be like a birthday present to me! ;) ...actually, it will probably be the only one I will get this year...

I'm quiting school and work after this game is released! ;)
--------

Also, as most of you have seen, I have a new splash screen before you can come to this page. It acts as a portal for new visitors, especially for any of my future employers who have received my resume in someway or another. They can just go straight to my Professional stuff, Resume and Porfolio, instead of having to go through my Journal first, which is personal.

--------

Leave a comment and let me know how you feel about splash page...thanks! :)

Living today to its fullest...

Living today to its fullest is what lead you to tomorrow

I'm back again on a new webserver. I finished migrating all of my website to the new server. It took quite a while but it's all worth it. I also upgraded my blog backend with the new MovableType 3.121 and also with my gallery, I upgraded it to the latest Singapore version 9.10 (with guest login feature...or something).

The reason for my move was because of a bored, two-face, no-life network admin that has nothing better to do than to start locking out accounts on our department Research and Development server (that we bought). I'm going to leave it at that...because it's a long story...if you want to know about it then send me an email in my contact page. Anyhow, I don't really care too much about it anymore, now that I have my own space to do and post whatever I please! So screw you! You know who you are...

I haven't written in a while (due to the migration of my site), so here is a recap of what happened in the past few days.

Click below to read MORE.

---------
FRIDAY
Social Dance went on for 2 hours again, so tiring, especially after Swing dancing for half of the time. Again, as a class we went over all of the moves we have learned so far. Oh yeah! I barely found out today that we have to all go see this dance production at the UCI studio theater and write a 1-page reaction on it! I miss the first day of class and therefore I didn't know about this until now. Time to find someone to go with...or not!

I stopped by at Darren's place for some BBQ later on the night, got to see the annoying but cute roommate again. She's so Miss Attitude! I feel sorry for Darren that she is kicking him out and that he has to move to a different place by tomorrow. Man, it's not too late to do what I told you that one time...payback is a bitch! And a bitch only deserves another bitch!

Anyways, we were later hanging out over at Lily's apartment while eating some BBQ chickens, and teasing her roommate, who is asian, and a international student from New Zealand. Derek was over too, chilling with us, and later, we were joined by Jessie and her homie, Nancy, the burned...I mean...oreo-cookie-girl.

Later on the night after the BBQ, Nicole, Darren, and I left and went to see a performance by the UCI's Improv Club. They were pretty funny. The Live Nude People!

---------
SATURDAY
I woke up around 1 PM and drove to Omar's house. We went out to shop for costumes. I realized that I'm broke and couldn't afford to buy some cheesy costume that I will never wear again. Angelic came to the rescue with a Pancho and some red and green maracas! So I was Mexican for the night! :)

Omar was to be a zombie, and Angelic helped decorate him with the costly blood/scar make-ups that he bought from the store. Overall, it took about 15 minutes and the outcome was pretty cool and...gross! See pictures in gallery!

Kim later arrived with her nurse costume and we then drove to Joe's house for his costume party in Irvine. We met up with Matt (Pe.ter Pan) and Becca (fairy? or pixie) over there. We ate and chat with a few of Joe's and Tiffanie's family and friends.

I later got to try out some newly learned swing dance moves out with Becca, who is a pro at it. I couldn't believe that the moves I have learned in social dance class are actually real! Hehehe...it was fun!

Now I just need to go try some Salsa dance moves at a salsa dance club one of these days.

Anyhow, a party can't be a party without some Texas Hold'em! And guess WHAT?

Did I bring enough money to play? NOPE!
Did my friend help spot me some dollars? YES!
Did I win and take the pot? Hell YEAH!
How many time have I won in first place consecutively with other's people money? THREE FREAKING TIMES CONSECUTIVELY!

There were 6 players this time. I felt really bad in the end because I took out the host, who has about 5 times the amount of chips I have. At the time, I was happy just settling for second place to win 20 bucks. But anyhow, I wanted to test my luck out so we continued to the very end!

So at the very last few rounds between the two of us. I started doing ALL-INs all the way and within 3 consecutive rounds, I took over being the leader in chip count and finally took him out to take first place, winning 40 bucks. I wanted to lose too, because it's Joe's party and I didn't want to take first place from him.

Like I said, I felt really bad, since Joe (the host of the party) never comes out first at Poker before, so I decided to split my winning with him and also paid Omar back for spotting me! I again walked out of a party with more money than I came in with. :D

---------
SUNDAY
I woke up today around 3 PM and finished my website migration to the new server, added the final touches and some extras.

Before stopping by Omar's house in La Verne for some BBQ. I stopped by the Albertson near my house for some relish and onions. I swear that I have never been in line for such a long time at a supermarket before. It was soooo crowded! I stood in line for about freaking 20 minutes before paying for my 2 items at the counter. What a pain!

Halloween in La Verne is just so crazy! I've never seen that many people in one block of street trick-or-treating before (Bonita and E Street to White St.) Together, Omar and his front-house neighbor spent about 100 dollars tonight on just candy alone! And even with that much spent, we ran out of candy an hour and a half into the madness rampage by the cute little kids in costumes.

Half of the time tonight, we spent sitting on the front porch turning kids away because we ran out of candy...we felt pretty bad and decided to leave the house and walked around the block trick-or-treating candy from other houses so we can have some to give out at Omar's house. Just kidding, although it would've been pretty funny.

We speculated that all of the decked-out houses in Halloween decorations probably spent more than a few hundred of dollars each on candy alone tonight. Especially, these decked-out houses are the ones that the kids will definitely hit first! That's just insane in my opinion at how much people spent on candy tonight!

Later, Melissa, Omar's little sister, and her friends who were dressed up as fairies, came by to trick-or-treat at Omar's new neighborhood. Wow...time flies by so quickly, it was only just the other day that Melissa was still in elementary. She's now a sophomore in high school. Like I told Omar, man oh man, everyone is growing up so fast and we are growing older everyday. It's scary...

And that concludes my Halloween weekend! A long but fun one to say the least! You can now visit my gallery to see the pictures that I have taken in the past few days. CLICK HERE!

---------
Oh by the way, congratulation to Pete as he's expecting his second daughter, Sydney, in the next 48 hours as I was told! I'm very excited for him, and I've told him that I certainly can't wait until it's my turn! :)

Election in 1 day so go vote people!
