Summer is over already?!

Yes unfortunately...summer school begins starting next Monday already! I'm beginning to enjoy the freedom and the luxury of not having to stress out about projects and homework! Booooooo! It's been a carefree week thus far not having to attend classes.

The other day, I went out with Francis, Brian, Laureen and David...yes David...we finally got him to leave his house/computer for once! It might be the last time he will be out with us for a long time though. I think Francis might have traumatized David with his Eiffel towel "theory"... We wined (well we didn't really wine though) and dined filipino delicacies at Salo Salo. Yummy stuff...I had my favorite crispy Pata (spelling?) or the yummy heart-attack pork as I call it...hehe

Pork! Heart attack! Should've taken the picture before we started digging in...but I was hungry! It might look weird but...it's tasty nonetheless!

Moreover, on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, I was swimming over at Brian's parents' place with Francis, Brian's brother and his niece. It was fun to swim again. The pool's high concentration of chlorine was burning my eyes as I attempted to open my eyes while swimming underwater without swimming goggles. That was a bit uncomfortable. Too bad I didn't get to swim very long due to my habit of being fashionably late. Well, I had to take care of some stuff before I could head over there...therefore I was late! Anyhow, Brian's dad cooked up some mean filipino food, and yes...I enjoyed over-staying my welcome as Francis would say...hahaha!

Earlier tonight, I attended Allison's dance performance down in Palos Verde. It was very entertaining and enjoyable, especially her dancing numbers. I brought her some roses, they are beautiful, at least I think they're worth it for however much I spent on them...hehe...wow never have I thought I'd spend that much on roses! Well she deserves it so it's all good! I didn't get to take any pictures of the performance because they wouldn't allow people taking any kind of pictures during the performance. As slick and sneaky as Son can be with his little camera, Son just didn't want to risk making a biggo scene tonight.

Enough recap about my "only week of summer". Time for bed! Gotta try to relax this weekend before the long summer school haul!

Congratulations!

Just want to post a quick one to extend my congratulations to the newly graduates and my friends: Derek, Lily, Hong, Jessie, and whoever else that I forgot to mention...Sorry I couldn't make it all to everyone's graduations. I did make it to most though.

Now lets start the job hunting process already! Hehe  Good luck!

Pictures to come soon...maybe whenever Norm stops being so hostile online and starts sending those pictures this way!

Woah!

I'm so braindead right now...it's not even funny. I just got up from my 10 minutes nap and now I'm getting ready to drive down to Irvine to attend a dinner with a few of my grad student friends. I can't think straight right now and it's kind of a weird feeling! But it's all good, Son's always under control of any given situations!

I just finished and turned in my last paper that is due for this quarter. Wow that was intense. I'm glad this quarter has finally come to the end or has it(?)...well there are the grades that I somewhat worry about too. 3 grad classes, 1 undergrad class and dancing rehearsals and performances that I had to tend to. What a crazy quarter it has been. Hopefully I will pass all my classes with good grades! But we'll see! First year as a grad student has finally come to an end! Hopefully I'll be done soon!!!

Thanks to Derek for accomplishing the retrieval mission of some goods from the dance office earlier today. I appreciate it...gave me extra time to finish the paper that was due earlier this afternoon.

Salo salo Monday night! David, you better be coming with us that night! I'm clearing my schedule! Wait school is over...well at least for the next week, I don't have much on my schedule to clear...hehe. And Jeremy, I'm actually going to pay you a visit at Outbacks for dinner this coming Wednesday night! It's tentative, but I'll try my best not to forget or intend to forget! :)

Anyhow, driving time, write later! I have a few things coming in by snail mail...so I'll write about them soon whenever I receive them! Adios!

Matt's Graduation

Congratulations to my good friend Matt for graduating for his B.S. in Engineering at Cal Poly this last weekend. I had fun binging food again...over at his graduation Luau party. It was fun. And for some reason I was like the only one there that didn't get the memo about dressing for a Luau.

Oh yeah, I did win some cash playing Texas Hold'em at Matt's graduation. At first I didn't want to play...like always, but then I gave in to peer pressure and I didn't want to be a poor sport at Matt's graduation party! Matt did win the first tourney though...I was still half awake from the lack of sleep the night before. Second round came around, I started to regain my conciousness after a few soda and meetballs (yummm...). First half of the second tourney, I played my hands conservatively and let all the veteran players dish it out against each others and in turn eliminating each others one by one. I survived 'til the latter half and that's when Son the aggressor comes out to play! I did feel bad for going up against Matt's grandma and aunt though. They are like triple my age! But nonetheless very good poker players! It's so funny how Matt's grandma was so fishing us with her pocket rockets at one of the hands. Anyhow, I ended up eliminating most of the players left at the latter half of the tourney round except for Angelic's dad. It got dark and we were becoming increasingly weary after the long rounds of battle. So we decided to end up splitting the pot straight down the middle toward the end instead of continuing on to see who comes first and second. So once again, Son comes out victorious!

I remember vividly the night when we all were over at his parents' house for our high school graduation 5 years ago and spent the night. Wow and that was about 5 years ago. That's quick!

Anyways, time to get back to writing my other papers that are due sometimes this week.

Here is the link to my Flickr account where I've uploaded most of the pictures that were taken at Matt's graduation party. The rest of them, I'm still waiting for Omar to send it to me whenever he decides to transfer them to his computer from his digital camera.

Enough dancing!!!

Woah...the past 2 days I have been preparing for the medal exam that I had to take earlier this afternoon. It was tough but fun nonetheless. I was determined to do it and do it well. In the past 3 days, I have been dancing for almost 10 hours. Darren was there too, it's good to have company to motivate each others. He needed to practice anyhow. We were determined and motivated to kick ass and chew bubble gums...The medal exam wasn't very important, but it's more like we had something to prove to ourselves that we can do it...and that's about all it takes. Well...life's short, you only get to do certain things at certain times in your life, why not take full advantage at the given opportunities, right?

I'm starting to develop calluses on parts of my sole that I never knew possible. And this is with dancing shoes too... :) I hope I did well. Maybe I'm also starting to develop an appreciation for all those crazy devoted dancers out there...hehe

This past Tuesday I had to perform with the ballroom dance team for one of the Social Dance classes. I think the more I perform in front of people, the more comfortable I am starting to get with this idea. It's almost like public speaking or class presentation...a different cup of tea, nonetheless, as long as Son's prepared, Son's always good to go! Note to self: dancing latin is just way too fun!

I'm so exhausted! Well, enough dancing for a little while, I've got to get back on track with school and grind it out hardtime this last week of the quarter. I have 1 take-home final and 2 big papers to turn in by this coming week. Anyways, I'd love to sit here and write more about what's happening with my life lately. Come to think of it, there are actually a lot of things and a particular special girl...but I really need to get some sleep before I literally pass out!

So possibly once summer starts, I will recap on what has happened in the past few weeks or what not for ya. However, in the meantime, sleep first, write more later! Time to lock myself in my room for the next few days...ooookkaaay...as if that's really going to happen!

A Whole New World

Choose "newworld" and click on the wittle play button! It's one of my favorite songs of all time! This and Beauty and the Beast! These songs always have the way of making me feel happy and at times, nostalgic. I'm glad there have been only good memories attached to these songs. Especially earlier tonight. :)

Yes...I'm officially cool now that I drink...ummm...and please disregard that possibly uncool label "Vanilla Cream" that you see on the bottle! Hmmm...yeah...hehe

For more pictures at Derek's birthday party...check out Norm's flickr account by following the link below:

It's been a while

For the most part today, I worked on my project for one of my ICS classes. It's a GPS-based application that lets you compare different routes, may it be by driving, walking or hiking. Basically, recorded GPS coordinates of the routes you take (home to school/work, etc.) are then used to compare the routes graphically and statistically. As of right now, I'm trying to design it in a way that it will look nice, simple to use, but yet sophisticated. A complicated combination, I might add. It's all part of the User Interface designing process. Currently, it's not "dynamically" working yet, since one of my groupmates is working on the backend of things. So it's just a skeleton of the user interface right now as I'm good at making things look pretty! Hehe

You can check out my work in progress by clicking on the link below...

http://www.phuson.com/ics105/

The reason why I brought this up, is because it's been a while since the last time I've designed and implemented a website. It took me a while to get my creative juice running again, and to recall all of my techniques or what not. Even now after messing with it for the whole day, I have yet to be up to par with what I used to be able to do so frequently and easily; the motivation/inspiration that I used to have before whatever happened almost a year ago is still a bit lacking...but anyhow, I've got to get back on track and get cracking. Moreover, David, again, I really appreciate that you're using your vacation time to get things going! The mailing-list seems to be working fine and the temp site is looking not bad. But too bad, apparently, most of the team members are hitting a few of life's obstacles and are trying to re-situate and cope with these obstacles, so it's going to be a bit slow right now. Anyways, thanks buddy.

Later on in the afternoon, I was over at Derek's apartment for his birthday party. I was a little out of it for some reason, I think it was due to my being stressed out about school and my lacking of sleep this past week. It was fun nonetheless. Derek, you got pretty drunk, buzzed, or whatever you want to call it! Man, I've never seen you like this before, but it's all good, I hope you had fun. And yeah...it's not a^2 + c^2 = b^2...hahaha . Darren and Norm, thanks for planning and setting things up. You two are good friends! :)

Hmm...hi

If you know who you are and I know who you are, and you used to work with me...visit the forum! Yes, that forum! Because right now, I think only 3 of us are sorta actively looking at it. I have so much work to finish right now but as soon as I finish, I shall rejoin. Thanks David for taking the initiative at the moment. And I figured I should blog about it here just as a reminder, because I know some of you visit this site more often than that forum!

Sleepy

I've never been so exhausted in my life. I got home around 1 AM and I was completely knocked out until 4 AM. I'm not going to tell you what I did the night before but I had fun! I'm still so tired right now, I think I'm going to head back to sleep pretty soon. Maybe catch a few Z's before noon.

Maybe I've just realized why I'm not too fond of the quarter system...it's because right when you are starting to get used to your schedule and the classes that you have, it's practically over. It's almost near the end of the quarter already. That went by so quickly! This year is going to end before I even know it...and I'll hit 30 before I even can realize it! Woah...

In other news, for some reason, thanks to all of my filipino friends' introducing me to some filipino delicacies. I'm actually craving some hardcore filipino food right now! Hehe

I'm sooooo sore right now...I ran, biked, lifted weights, and rehearsed within the past couple of days and ate too! Which isn't very normal for me. I just feel like I have a 'better' reason to take care of myself a bit better nowadays. :)

I can't wait until this quarter is over...so I can start on some personal/PI projects that I've been wanting to accomplish.

BTW, welcome back to California, Roco...blue state 4life!
